Cian Dayrit: Artist Tour
Bellas Artes Projects is pleased to present ‘Busis Ibat Ha Kanayunan (Voices from the Hinterlands)’, an exhibition by Cian Dayrit. During his residency at Bellas Artes Projects, Dayrit focused his research into the history and mythology of the Ayta Magbukun community of Bataan, a deeply marginalized Indigenous Peoples group in central Luzon, examining their position in relation to colonial and post-colonial history and their representation in ethnographic studies of these periods, in close conversation with members of the community. The exhibition is part of an ongoing project from his residency.
Las Casas Workshops
Interested in traditional craft? This video below is an introduction to Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar workshops with our beloved craftsmen. To see their incredible talent, click here.
Las Casas Filipinas De Acuzar Workshops
The Workshops are composed of carvers, painters, sculptors, furniture makers, tile makers, brick makers and artisans all under one operation that builds Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar. Having made houses, bridges and other infrastructures, these 'Bodegas' are also an integral part of the Bellas Artes Projects Residency Program. BAP Artists work and collaborate with these craftsmen, explore and use readily available materials and equipment, and have an experience unique to each residency.
