Sarge lacuesta

Sarge Lacuesta is a highly-acclaimed writer, having been recognized four times by the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards and receiving various accolades such as the Philippine National Book Award, Madrigal-Gonzalez Best First Book Award and Manila Critics’ Circle National Book Award for his collections of short fiction such as White Elephants, Life Before X and Flames. He has also edited a few books such Latitude: Writing from the Philippines and Scotland and Fourteen Love Stories.

Lacuesta received his primary and secondary education at the Ateneo de Manila University and later pursued a degree in Biology at the University of the Philippines. He has also been selected for several grants both here and abroad including the UP National Writer's Workshop in Quezon City, the Silliman National Writers Workshop in Dumaguete, The Writer's Retreat at Hawthornden Castle in Lasswade, Scotland and The International Writing Program at the University of Iowa.

Today, Lacuesta runs his own advertising company and acts as Editor-At-Large for Esquire Philippines, all while continuing his pursuits as a writer and editor.
