STUDIO ASSISTANT
Bellas Artes Projects is seeking for a Studio Assistant for their upcoming Artist Residency Program in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar from January to March 2017. Interested applicants can send their CVs to info@bellasartesprojects.org
Residency Details:
- Will involve projects based in Manila and Bataan
- Will assist the artist in terms of communicating with the craftsmen in the workshops.
- Is able to assist the artist with the materials and equipments needed for the artwork.
- All accommodations (food, lodging and transportation) will be shouldered during the course of the residency
Job Description:
• Coordinating manager between craftsmen and artists-in-residence
• Assist foreign and local artists with materials and production of artworks during the residency
• Cooperate with heads to improve the system of production within the workshops
• Works on-project basis and can stay in Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar for extended period
Preferred Qualification:
• 20 to 30 years old
• Candidate must possess, or at least in the process of attaining, a Bachelor’s/ College degree in Industrial or Production Design
• Fluent in English and Tagalog
• At least have prior experience working in furniture production or any similar setup
• Applicants must have experience or knowledge in materials particularly: wood carving, brick making (terracotta), Machuca tile-
making and ironworks
• Shares interest with the local and global contemporary art scene
• Resides or based in the Bataan area
Gallery Assistant
Bellas Artes Projects is seeking for a Gallery Assistant for the Outpost, a non-for-profit art space opening this December 2016. Interested applicants can send their CVs to info@bellasartesprojects.org
Details:
- Manage daily operations of the Outpost (12pm to 6pm)*
- Monitor daily maintenance of the gallery and library space
- Monitor the safety of the artworks and proper behavior of the guests
- Coordinate logistical operations between members of the Bellas Artes team, cooperating partners and outside services
*Operating hours may vary during openings, special events and occasions
Job Description:
• Operate audio-visual equipment, lights and air-condition units during operating hours
• Monitor guests with the viewing of books and reading material in the Salon library
• Monitor phone traffic and update social media accounts to promote current and upcoming events and exhibits.
• Allocate display and exhibition materials during ingress and egress of every exhibition and events
• Assist foreign and local artists with installation and disassembly of the artwork
• Document and photograph events and exhibitions
• Assist the Artistic Director, Communications Manager, and Project Manager
with the operational logistics during events and exhibitions
• Assist the artist with the installation and disassembly of the artwork.
Preferred Qualification:
• 20 to 30 years old
• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s/ College degree in Art History, Art Studies, Fine Arts or any course within the related area
• Fluent in English and Tagalog
• At least have prior experience working in a gallery or any similar setup
• Applicants must have experience or knowledge in remembering names and faces of guests and artists
• Shares interest with the local and global contemporary art scene
