Fernando Sánchez Castillo
Fernando Sánchez Castillo (b. 1970, Madrid) is an artist whose practice has links to historiography, journalism and the ambiguous relations between power and its propaganda.
He completed his BFA at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an Masters in Philosophy and Aesthetics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He was a member of PSL Research University at École national supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) in Paris and a resident at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam.
He has had solo exhibitions at Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga, Stedelijk Museum Schiedam in The Netherlands, and Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid and in group exhibitions including at Palais de Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the 10th International Istanbul Biennial, MoMA in New York, Tate Modern in London, and the Fundació Miró in Barcelona. Sánchez Castillo currently lives and works in Madrid.
