Carlomar a. daoana

Carlomar Daoana is a multi-awarded poet and art critic. He has been awarded the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE)-Alice Guillermo Art Criticism Award and Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prize for Art Criticism and the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for his poetry collections, The Elegant Ghost and Crown Sonnet for Maria. His other collections, Fashionista’s Book of Enlightenment and Marginal Bliss, were also both finalists for the National Book Awards. 

Daoana graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from the University of Sto. Tomas and is currently completing his Master’s Degree in Fine Arts for Creative Writing at the De La Salle University. He has been selected for several conferences and festivals both here and abroad such as serving as panelist for the 1st Kuala Lumpur Literary Festival and a fellow at the 48th UP National Writers Workshop. He also teaches Creative Writing at the Ateneo de Manila University and serves as a columnist for the Arts and Culture section of The Philippine Star.
