BAP Appoints Inti Guerrero as Artistic Director

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Inti Guerrero (b. 1983, Bogotá, Colombia) as our new Artistic Director, spearheading BAP’s artist residency program at its headquarters site at Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan and exhibition program at BAP Outpost in Makati City. Guerrero succeeds former Artistic Director Diana Campbell Betancourt and his post will officially commence on July 1, 2018. 

Mr. Guerrero is a curator based in Hong Kong and serves as the Estrellita B. Brodsky Adjunct Curator of Latin American Art for the Tate in London, and curator of the 38th EVA International - Ireland’s Biennial. From 2011-2014 he was the Associate Artistic Director/Curator of TEOR/ética; a non-profit art institution in Costa Rica founded in 1999. He has curated, published and lectured extensively in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Mr. Guerrero is a former fellow of De Appel’s Curatorial Program in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and fulfilled studies on Art and Architecture History and Theory, and General History at both Los Andes University in Bogotá, Colombia and University of São Paulo in Brazil. He has a depth of experience curating international exhibitions in museums and institutions including Tate Modern in London, Para Site in Hong Kong, Minsheng Museum in Shanghai, Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Torino, Museum of Contemporary Art in Manila, Kadist in San Francisco, and CA2M in Madrid. His writings have been published in Afterall, Art Asia Pacific, Manifesta Journal a.o.
